Denied Disability Benefits?
There's new cause for hope, we hear from attorney Frank Darras, Esq. In a settlement with regulators over wrongfully denied claims, UnumProvident corp. will reconsider claims from 215,000 people in 43 states. Claims were rejected by Unum, Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. and Provident Life and Accident Insurance Co. between 1997 and 2004. To be reassessed, a claim had to have been denied for reasons other than death, failing to exhaust the policy elimination period or reaching maximum benefits. Fore benefits denied before January 1, 2000, contact the insurer. Fore claims after that date, return within 60 days the "request to participate" form you received by mail.
