Jason Sanchez joined the firm in January of 2003, as the firm’s media and public affairs director. In the course of bringing national attention to the work done by the firm on behalf of insurance policyholders, Mr. Sanchez developed a passion for the cause and decided he wanted to do more. Commencing in 2006, while working full time at SBEB during the day, he attended law school at night. While attending law school, Mr. Sanchez functioned as a paralegal for the firm on catastrophic personal injury and insurance bad-faith cases.
Most recently, prior to graduating law school and becoming a member of the California State Bar, Mr. Sanchez was the lead paralegal on behalf of 11 clients involved in a tragic head-on collision on Highway 395, resulting in four deaths and major injuries to the survivors. In the course of reviewing voluminous discovery, including thousands of documents, Mr. Sanchez was integral in uncovering numerous Caltrans’ memoranda dating back to the mid-60s, which confirmed Caltrans’ knowledge of the dangerous condition of its roadway. The matter was successfully settled prior to trial for an amount in excess of $20 million.
Mr. Sanchez obtained his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona and graduated, cum laude, from University La Verne College of Law in 2010. He has been married for 9 years and has two children.
